photoshop: background swap!

i spent an hour of my evening being educated by a friend and talented photographer, austin lindsay. as we rocked out to some killswitch, he demonstrated the power of layer masks. how have i survived without this skill before is unsure. he also help me set up my tablet that has been sitting in my bag for far too long. a couple settings later, i cant wait to use it!!! i'm finally understanding why my fellow photogs have been raving about them!

so here is my first attempt (post education) at a back ground swap and it's all done on tablet!

snow's volleyball team at sunset

i shot snow college's volleyball team to use for promotional work. the girls were really fun to work with and were patient with my lack of experience with volleyball.... i explained to them, "i cheered in high school, I have no idea how to speak volleyball lingo..." they gave me a hard time for a sec. but all in all things turned out great!

this is the cover for the media guide sold at games. the seam falls in the middle so the right half is the front cover and the left is the back. It's actually a combination of two different photos...

this is the entire photo that was merged into the media guide shot to create the back cover:

keep an eye out for these around sanpete county! let me know if you see one! its just a poster with the games schedule.
