katie's bridal

Mar 6, 2011 2 comments
i have been waiting to post these shots for so long! i love them and can't wait to show them off, but i was under strict orders to make sure there was no possible way for the groom to see this beautiful dress before the big day.
this was the coldest bridal i've ever shot...
and i had a coat on.
enjoy.

luckily we didn't have to spend our whole session freezing...

loved working with you katie!
your wedding was lovely!
i'll have that posted soon enough ;)

dear britney,
come to utah so i can photograph you again.
...or find a way to get me back to ohio ;)

so if you've followed me anywhere online, you've seen this gals face. she's been my facebook profile pic for a few months and is also in one of three photos featured in my blog header.
i have a lot of pride in this session. not only did i do the photography, but i did her hair! and if i may say so myself, it looks fantastic on her.

and one more time...

this is my new cousin-in-law!
i'm no longer the only 'megan' in the family.
since it seems 1 in every 5 girls is named megan, i knew it was only a matter of time...
but she wears the name well.
welcome to the family kid!

Shaina's Bridals (part 1 of my New Mexico adventure!)

Nov 8, 2010 1 comments
Manti High Alumni: Can you believe how much this little girl has grown up since she moved away in like 8 years ago??

I was thrilled when Shaina's family invited me to New Mexico to photograph their daughters bridal/wedding! Not only do I LOVE traveling, but I was excited to have an excuse to visit Shaina's sister, my best friend from high school, and her little family!

I loaded everything in my Oldsmobile, Alero and headed south at about 4am Friday morning. To those I texted in those early hours, thanks for keeping me awake. The road trip started off rough... I decided to borrow my brother's GPS... I was lost before I made it 20 miles from my house. Those things hate me.

I finally got to my destination at around 1pm and we got to shooting! Here are a few of the results of New Mexico day 1:

This trip was pretty epic. I think i'm going to break into 4 more posts... stay tuned.

jessica's bridal session.

Admit it. My cousin here is freaking gorgeous.
(her photographer aint bad either!)

We started Jess's shoot at a garden location in the sugar house area. The place was awesome.
It was hidden behind a very old LDS church. Thanks again to my Aunt Robin for telling us about it!

From the garden, we got back in the car and drove out to the salt flats. I've been wanting to shoot bridals at this location for some time now, but I haven't had a bride that I've had the confidence to drag out there... Since Jess is family, she can't hate me forever for making her climb a gate in her wedding dress and high heels....

I think it was worth it.

And I even did a good job of keeping her dress clean! Thanks for letting me take you on a bridal adventure jess. Your beautiful. Love ya.

heather's bridal session.

May 22, 2010 2 comments
We did heather's bridals on what felt like the coldest day of the year. However, the gal has a beautiful smile that completely hides the fact that she was shivering! We would rap a blanket around her, pose everything up, take the blanket away and pull the trigger as fast as possible then wrap her back up!

Luckily the grounds keeper at this location let us go inside to raise our body temperatures! Once inside we found some really fun places to shoot and took a few inside...

I also got some fantastic pics of Heather on her wedding day! I'll be posting those soon!

during erin's engagement session she mentioned how much she loved to snow board. i thought this was only appropriate.
